Rous County Council (RCC) provides water to the Northern New South Wales Council areas of Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Ballina etc. Raw water sources are under pressure as a result of growth in the region and pressures from climate change. This options analysis is part of an overall drought mitigation strategy which RCC initiated to meet the challenges of growth and climate change within the region. GANDEN undertook a detailed options assessment involving, network integration, population growth analysis, climate change challenges and costing. This provided RCC with the information to make well founded decisions in relation to water security for the future.
